Wally Nelson Obituary, Death – St. Joseph is located in Missouri. Wallace “Wally” Nelson Prawl, 86 years old, passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2023, at the Field Point Assisted Living Center in St. Joseph, Missouri. Wallace was a resident of St. Joseph, Missouri. How is it possible to sum up in a few sentences the remarkable life that Wally Prawl led? In point of fact, it is impossible. The term generosity is the first one that springs to mind in this context.

He was always willing to assist in any manner possible, whether it be giving away his time and money, serving meals, or helping with home improvement projects (even the projects you were unaware you had). Wally could probably write the book on how a husband should love his wife and turn it into a playbook.

His devotion defied all logic and understanding. He was the best father and grandfather anyone could ask for. Many others learned the importance of honesty and compassion because to his model behavior. His physical form has passed away, but his spirit will live on forever. In the end, we will all be reunited in Christ’s presence at the place that truly is our home.

Wally was born on June 27, 1936, on the family farm located north of Wathena, Kansas. It was on this farm that Wally developed an exceptional work ethic. Wally is a teacher who received his Bachelor of Arts in Education from Northwest Missouri State University and his Master of Arts in Education Administration from the University of Kansas.

During his extensive career at Lafayette High School, where he ultimately took his retirement as principal, he was a mentor to a countless faculty members, administrators, and students, and he made a positive impact on their lives. He was a member of the American Legion in St. Joseph, Missouri, as well as the Scottish Rite, Moila Shrine, and Wathena Masonic Lodge. He also served in the United States Navy. On November 14, 1959, in Wathena, Kansas, Wallace wed Nancy Absher. The ceremony took place.

His wife Nancy, son Thomas, and brother Stacy all passed away before Wallace Prawl. Wallace was the last surviving member of his family. He is survived by 2 children Dr. Timothy Prawl (Angela) of St. Joseph, MO and Tamara Prawl Heidel (Craig) of Las Vegas, NV; 5 grandchildren, Dr. Kaitlyn Heidel Walters (Joshua), Reid Heidel (Morgan), Lance Prawl (Cindy), Drew Prawl, and Makenzie Prawl Dahlgren (Matthew); 6 great-grandchildren, Emersyn, Madelyn, and Parker Walters, Raelyn Prawl, Eli and Hailey Dahlgren.
