Von Sheppard Obituary, Death – Von Sheppard The untimely death of Eric, Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, and Friend occurred on April 11, 2023. Father, Buford Sheppard, and brother, Victor Andre Sheppard, preceded him in death.
Besides his current wife, Lisa Nichols-Sheppard, Von leaves behind his mother, Mary Sheppard; siblings Gayle Rice, Dwayne Sheppard (Mary), Angela Sheppard, and Matt Heath; and grandchildren Savannah and Aubrey.
Von was not only a remarkable athlete, but also a teacher, mentor, consultant, motivational speaker, author, and telecommunications specialist. In high school, he held the record for the long jump at Central High in St. Paul, Minnesota, for nearly four decades.
Von graduated with an English degree and a stellar football record from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. Family, friends, music, sports, poetry, cooking, the great outdoors, and tracing his roots were among his favorite things to do.
He has many relatives and friends who will miss him and hold memorial services in his honor. Service will be held privately in Texas on April 21. Celebration of Life FELLOWSHIP MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 3355 N. 4th Street, Minneapolis, Minnesota, on Thursday, May 18 at 2:00 PM. Many people cherished his company and will miss him dearly.
