Shawn Thompson Obituary, Death – On February 9, 2023, Shawn B. Thompson, 55, of Piedmont, Oklahoma, went to be with the Lord. He was born to Shirlie Thompson on November 18th, 1967, in a small hospital in El Reno, Oklahoma. He attended Yukon High School and was a part of THE PRIDE drum corp.

before transferring to the University of Oklahoma. On February 18th, 1994, Beth Red and Shawn tied the knot. He has stints as an electrician instructor, master electrician, and estimator. He has recently begun working for the city of Oklahoma City as an Electrical Inspector.

Shawn has a wide range of interests, from nitro remote boat racing and bowling to cowboy action shooting and photography. While he enjoyed instructing his students in Defensive Shooting, his true passion was in coaching Olympic recurve archery for the GPAC (Great Plains Archery Club) team. Kisek Lee, an Olympic coach, certified him as a level 4 coach in the sport of archery. The USA Archery Regional Elite (Red) Team was under his direction in 2022.

Above everything else, Shawn cared about his relationship with Jesus Christ. His brother Sheldon, sister-in-law Kylan, nephew Zaid, and grandmother Francis Mays, as well as his wife Beth, children Courtney and Emily, and mother Shirlie, will all miss him greatly.

On Monday, February 13, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., visitors may pay their respects at the funeral home. On Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., funeral services will be place at Town & Country Christian Church in Yukon, Oklahoma, with interment to follow at Yukon Cemetery.
