Sandra Joy Obituary, Death – After learning of Sandra Joy’s death over the course of the weekend, everyone at Unison felt a great feeling of loss. Sandra had resided in the Kensington neighborhood for over four decades before moving to Unison. She spent a significant amount of her time and energy participating in the neighborhood’s numerous groups during her time there.
Sandra served as a community representative for ten years, serving on a variety of committees and working groups, meeting with neighborhood residents, legislators, business owners, and representatives from the local government and various agencies, and attending community events. As a result of this, she was able to make a significant contribution to the regeneration of the Kensington Public Housing Estate.
Sandra was also the Chairperson of the Kensington Public Tenants Association, where she was involved in the yearly Kensington Community Festival preparation. She was also an active member of the Kensington 78 Seniors Club, where she helped prepare the annual Kensington Community Festival. Sandra has received a number of honors for her work since she has devoted so much of her time to supporting residents of her community.
