Richard Van Pelt Obituary, Death – At the age of 61, Bradford J. Van Pelt, Sr. died away on Monday, November 28, 2011, at TriPoint Medical Centre. He was surrounded by his family at the time of his passing. Peggie S. (Gribble) Van Pelt, his devoted wife of 39 years, and he are finally back together again. He was the son of Richard O. Van Pelt and Margaret A. (Paulosko) Van Pelt and was born on March 10, 1950, in Painesville, Ohio.
He had lived in Painesville for all of his life. After 39 years of service, Brad took his retirement from Ametco Mfg. Corp. in the year 2009. He loved being outside and participating in shooting sports. He finally got to go on the safari he’d always wanted, which was in South Africa. He also delighted in quality time spent with the supportive members of his family.
His son, Bradford J. Van Pelt., Jr.; his daughter, Michelle (David) Elersich; his grandchildren, Riley, Chase, and Caden; his brother, Richard O. Van Pelt (Mariann); his mother-in-law, Billie Jo Gribble; his brothers-in-law, Tom Gribble, John (RoseAnn) Gribble, and Jeff (Theresa); and many nieces and nephews will miss him very much. Peggie S. Van Pelt, his wife; his parents, Richard O. and Margaret A. (Paulosko) Van Pelt; and his father-in-law, Howard E. Gribble, all passed away before he did. He is the only surviving member of his immediate family.
On Friday, the family will be present at the Johnson Funeral Home, located at 368 Mentor Avenue (just across the street from Lake Erie College) to greet visitors from 2:00 to 4:00 and from 6:00 to 8:00. Saturday at 11:30 in the morning, a funeral mass will be performed at St. Mary Catholic Church, which is located at 242 N. State Street in Painesville.
