Raul Luna Obituary, Death – Raul Osiel “Ozzy” Luna, age 19, passed suddenly on Monday, April 17, 2023 at Doctor’s Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg. He was known to his friends and family as Donna.

Ozzy graduated from Weslaco High School in 2022, where he was a defensive lineman on the varsity football team and wore the number 43 jersey. He went on to play college football.

As a Detention Officer for the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office, he was one of his employers. Ozzy had a wonderful sense of style, and you could always find him with his shoes polished, and his hair was always in excellent condition!

He had the uncanny ability to make people laugh without even trying, which was just one of his many talents. Ozzy’s maternal grandfather Aurelio Perez, paternal grandparents Miqueas and Elvia Luna, uncles Robert Perez and Rolando Luna, and his aunt Dora Luna all passed away before him. Ozzy’s aunt Dora Luna was his maternal grandmother’s brother.

He is survived by his parents Raul and Connie Luna; siblings Raul (Abigail) Luna, Jazmine Luna, Raul Christopher Luna; maternal grandmother Maria del Carmen Perez, aunts and uncles Rigoberto (Imelda) Luna, Rosa Luna, Imelda Luna, Jose (Jeanette) Luna, Leticia Luna, Aurelio (Alicia) Perez Jr, Guadalupe (Enrique) Ybarra, Janie (Ramon) Mungia, Juan Omar Perez, Noe Perez, Mirna Perez; and nephews Darren, Drayden, Davien Luna. Ozzy will be greatly missed by his two devoted canine companions, Darla and Kilo. He also left behind a sizable extended family to carry on his legacy.

At the Salinas Funeral Home, which is located at 2929 West Expressway 83 in Weslaco, Texas, the public is invited to attend a viewing on Friday, April 21, 2023, from 3 to 9 p.m., followed by a prayer ceremony at 7 p.m.

Funeral services will be performed at The Door Christian Fellowship Church of Weslaco, which is located at 2625 East 18th Street in Weslaco, Texas, on the morning of Saturday, April 22, 2023, at 10:00 am. After the funeral, the interment will take place at the Valle de la Paz Cemetery in Hargill, Texas.
