Prince Philip Obituary, The Duke of Edinburgh Has Died At 99

Prince Philip Obituary, Death – The Queen was married to Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, for 73 years when he passed away at the age of 99. He remained the family patriarch for two-thirds of a century before his last retreat into seclusion in 2019. He was also the longest-serving royal consort in British history. This was a long-term project that he had initially entered with resignation, thinking that it would make him into “nothing but a bloody amoeba” because he would always be a few steps behind his wife, hold back his opinions but not always his tongue, and be an appendage to the institution.

Even at his advanced age, he continued to provide his wife with the utmost support and participated in ceremonial events, public appearances, and international travel. He claimed to be winding down in a 2011 television interview, but it wasn’t until 2017 that he finished his last public appearance. He didn’t vanish from visibility until January 2019, when he gave up driving after causing a collision close to the Sandringham estate. In February 2021, when he was admitted to King Edward VII’s hospital in the heart of London due to an infection, he attracted notice once more.

His dedication to the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award program, which he developed in 1956 with the German educator Kurt Hahn to develop a “do-it-yourself kit in the art of civilized living,” was the most durable and significant aspect of his life. The program, which is active in more than 140 countries, encourages young people to engage in voluntary work and push themselves in activities that need collaboration and the outdoors. More than 4 million youths have participated in the program since its inception, and the duke gave gold medals to the best students far into his 90s.

Philip loved playing sports. He served as the Windsor Park polo team’s captain and backbone. He reduced his playing around the age of 50 and started participating in carriage racing because of liver and arthritis issues. He also began to paint. At Windsor Castle, His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning.
The Royal Family shares in the sorrow of the entire world at his passing.
