Paul Fitzgerald Obituary, Death – On April 28, 2023, a veteran firefighter who had served as a battalion chief for the Watertown Fire Department (after it was renamed the City of Watertown Fire Department) passed away. He had been a member of the department when it was first established. He had been a member of the department ever since its inception, back when it was just getting started.
The previous name of the department, which was the City of Watertown Fire Department, has been changed to the new name, which is the Watertown Fire Department. It is leagues and leagues better than even the very best of them! We were both members of the Boy Scouts at the same time, and it was there that we first became acquainted with one another. He was a Scout at the same time that I was, so we both belonged to the organization at the same time. This was the occasion on which we made our initial introductions to one another.
Following that, he was the instructor for the very first fire safety class that I ever took, and it was through this experience that we first became acquainted with one another. After that, we both decided to work in the field of fire protection after completing our respective degrees. When I initially started working at Guilfoyle Ambulance, one of the many gifts in my life was that I was given the opportunity to work alongside him. I count that opportunity among my many other benefits.
Working for him opened up a wide variety of doors for me in terms of educational chances. He was always willing to assist anyone who was interested in growing their skill set, and he was always delighted to aid anyone who was interested in doing so. He was always prepared to help anyone who was interested in increasing their skill set. Chief Fitzgerald, you have earned the highest praise and gratitude from me for what you’ve accomplished. Thank you!
