Nancy Brost Obituary, Death – A woman from Nekoosa, Wisconsin, was found dead in the Wisconsin River in south Wood County, and it was established that she went away as a result of drowning.
A press release was published by the Wood County Sheriff’s Department on Saturday afternoon indicating that 58-year-old Nancy Brost was pulled from the river early on Saturday afternoon. The news release was issued on Saturday afternoon.
Around 12:48 p.m. on April 29, Wood County Central Dispatch received a report of a person in the Wisconsin River in the Township of Saratoga, which is located close to the north of Wakely Road.
The caller was able to safely rescue Brost and bring him to safety on the coast. When emergency services arrived at the scene, they found that she had passed tragically as a result of drowning after conducting their investigation.
The Wood County Sheriff’s Department has stated that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the occurrence, and the department will not offer any other information regarding the matter.
Some of the people who responded to the incident included members of the Wood County Sheriff’s Department, the Wood County Sheriff’s Rescue, the Department of Natural Resources, the Nekoosa Fire Department, Saratoga First Responders, Wisconsin Rapids Ambulance, the Wood County Coroner’s office, the police departments of Nekoosa and Port Edwards, and the fire departments of Biron, Grand Rapids, Port Edwards, and Rome.
