Micky Loftus Obituary, Crossmolina Resident Has Passed Away

Micky Loftus Obituary, Death – The sad news that Dr. Micky Loftus has passed away has caused me to feel an overwhelming sense of loss. He was a courageous and accomplished player in the GAA, both on the field of play and off of it. He was unwavering in his dedication to the causes that were important to him, including Mayo, Crossmolina, GAA, health, people, and the community.

He was devoted to his convictions in everything he cared about, including those causes. My late father considered him a good friend, and I have no doubt that the two of them will get the chance to talk about sports and politics once more on that enormous field in heaven. It has been an honor and a privilege to know him for the majority of my life, and the time we have spent together has been unforgettable.

I would like to offer my deepest condolences to his wife Edie as well as the rest of his family, and, especially to our friend and colleague Councillor Michael Loftus. In the picture that Michael used to kick off his campaign for the 2019 election, you can see Dr. Micky, Cllr. Annie May Reape, former Senator Keith Swannick, and former Councillors Stephen Molloy and Christy Garrett. I say a prayer that he discovers the peace of eternal slumber under the watchful care of his beloved Nephin.
