Matt Pandol Obituary, Death – Matt On April 21, 2023, Steve Pandol, Jr. died abruptly in Delano, CA. 60-year-old Matt. His family mourns his abrupt death.
Matt is survived by his loving wife Linda, his children Matt, III, Stefanie, and Mark, his mother Lucy Pandol, brothers Louis, John (Angelica), and Andrew S. (Beth), sister Margaret (Scott) Curtis, mother-in-law Gerry Marcia, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws. His father died.
On June 27, 1962, Matt and Lucy (Tudor) Pandol had Matt Jr. After graduating from Delano High School in 1980, Matt studied plant science at Fresno State. Matt joined his family’s Delano farming/produce marketing business after college.
Matt married Linda in 1994. They reared three children in Delano and grew world-class table grapes. Matt helps his family and the Pandol Bros., Inc. board grow the Pandol Family organization.
Delano Grape Growers Co-op Winery’s board included him. Matt participated in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Greater Delano Area Youth Foundation, the American Slavonic Club, and the All-American Slavonic Association of Fresno.
Matt was a real farmer. He liked farming and produced the best. He always said his name on the packaging meant the fruit had to be delicious. His brother Andrew S. helped him with Pandol Farms. Matt enjoyed working with them.
Matt was a foodie. He could get friends to cook for him. Matt enjoyed field team BBQs and laughing with the workers. His farmhands were most comfortable. He respected them.
Matt routinely shot in U.S. events. He joined sports and gun clubs. Matt loves fishing, hunting, hiking, and outdoor activities with family and friends. His highlights were family cruises and in-law holiday parties. Matt liked the Packers.
Matt quietly gave to his community to thank his family. He adored his family. He was happy for his and Linda’s children when they graduated and started their careers. He respected them. Matt’s gentle humor, grin, and acceptance will be missed. We’ll never forget his greatness.
A Rosary and Mass will follow viewing at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 916 Lexington Street, Delano, from 9:45 to 10:15 a.m. on May 5, 2023.
Burial is Saturday, May 6, at Hillcrest Mortuary in Bakersfield at 10 a.m. St. Mary’s Father Loji Pilones will preside.
