Mary Frey Obituary, Death – Mary Elizabeth Frey passed away at the age of 75 on Sunday, April 30, 2023, at Stratford General Hospital. She was surrounded by her family at the time of her passing. Mary Elizabeth Frey went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Mary was given a diagnosis of ALS in March of 2023, and despite the turmoil that she was experiencing, she was able to find peace in Jesus.
Mary was revered by everyone who knew her, and her unassuming devotion to God had a profound effect on a great number of people. Mary was born on July 8, 1947, in Musoma, Tanzania to parents Simeon and Edna Hurst, who were working as missionaries at the time of their daughter’s birth. Due to the fact that she had spent the majority of her formative years outside, she cherished the splendor of God’s creation.
As a consequence of this, flowers were always on display within the home, and she cherished the opportunity to spend time outside tending to her plants. Additionally, she enjoyed going to the beach whenever she could. Mary had a desire for service, and she devoted a significant portion of her life to assisting people who were unable to assist themselves through her work with the Red Cross. She was devoted to her family and served as an excellent example, exemplifying what a godly wife, mother, and grandma should look like.
Mary’s husband of 54 years, Harvey, as well as their children Ian and Lisa, Randy and Nathalie, and their grandchildren Ellis, Declan, and Sydney, will never stop loving her and will miss her deeply. She is survived by her brother Elwood Hurst and his wife Marjorie, as well as her sister Ruth Rice and her husband David. Her older sister, Nancy Hurst, passed away before she did.
At Trinity Bible Chapel, located at 1373 Lobsinger Line in Waterloo, there will be a visitation on the evening of Saturday, May 6, 2023, from 6 to 9 o’clock. On Monday, May 8, 2023, there will be a funeral service held at Trinity Bible Chapel at 11 a.m., and the interment will take place at Hawkesville Cemetery after the service.
