Lori Harrell Obituary, Lori Harrell 60, Of Benthall Bridge Road, Has Died

Lori Harrell Obituary, Death – On Tuesday, April 26, 2023, at the ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville, North Carolina, Lori “Sissy” Grizzard Harrell, 60, of Benthall Bridge Road, passed away peacefully with her loving son by her side.

Sissy Grizzard, daughter of the late Robert and Shirley Grizzard, was born on March 17, 1963, in Ahoskie, North Carolina. She volunteered extensively at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, where she sang in the chorus and worked on the budget.

She held her family in the highest regard and relished any opportunity to spend time with them. She had a radiant grin that could brighten any room, and her laughter was contagious.

Sissy loved spending time on the river, whether it was catching brim or cruising down the Chowan on the pontoon boat. She was the type of person who would put the needs of others before her own at any time.

She loved her dogs almost as much as she loved her family and friends. Many people cared about Sissy, and their loss is profound.
Robert Taylor Grizzard, Shirley Byrum Grizzard, and their daughter Donna Grizzard all died before Sissy was born.

Sister Rhonda Askew and husband Butch of Conway; niece Trisha Bryant and great niece Bre Eure, both of Conway; brother in law Thomas Harrell and wife Pat of Margarettsville; beloved pets Maggie and Harley; and countless nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends are left to mourn Sissy’s passing.

A private memorial service will be held by the family at a later time. Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, 112 East Mt. Tabor Church Rd., Ahoskie, NC 27910, is accepting memorial donations in lieu of flowers.
