While Lola’s mother, Sinead James, was asleep, the girl’s stepfather, Kyle Bevan, caused what have been described as “catastrophic” lesions to her brain.
Our hearts break for young Lola James, whose callous mother consented to her boyfriend murdering the 2-year-old and blaming it on the dog. Our sympathies go out to the James family.
Sinead was handed a sentence of three years in jail, while Kyle was given a sentence of life in prison with a minimum term of 28 years. Both of these sentences will be served concurrently. Today is the day that both phrases came into force.
