Larry Silvestri Obituary, Pittsburgh, PA, Band Director at Franklin Regional Middle School Dies

Larry Silvestri Obituary, Death – “Sly” Silvestri, you do not need to be concerned about anything at this time. Throughout the years, you have been there for me not only in the capacity of a teacher but also as a friend. I am grateful. You were one of the fortunate people I had the pleasure to work with when I first began out in this industry, and I am very grateful for that.

Despite the fact that you sported a fantastic mullet in the 1980s, we appreciated you because you shared our sense of humor and laughed almost as much as our peers did. Throughout the many years spent participating in marching band in addition to other musical activities such as concert band, jazz band, and countless travels, you made a significant contribution to the love of music. It was always a pleasure to run into you and catch up on old times whenever I did.

Whether it was a random encounter outside of the Music Man on Broadway in New York City or when I made infrequent visits to band camp after I had graduated from college. I was always happy to see you and talk about the good old days. Whether it was in that location or at North Park Lounge, I always looked forward to catching up with you and finding out what you’ve been up to. It was a delight to do so continually. There are going to be a lot of individuals who will miss seeing you around if you move out of the area. We lost you too soon. Goodbye, Sly.
