Kooper Campiti Obituary, Death – On Friday, April 21, 2023, Kooper David Campiti, 18, of Frontenac, Kansas, died gently at home. Kooper Campiti was born on October 8, 2004 in Pittsburg, Kansas, to Shawn and Kyle (Stevens) Campiti. He grew up in Frontenac and graduated in the Class of 2023 from Frontenac High School. He was a member of the Chess Club, as well as baseball, track and cross country.
He was an avid video gamer who especially enjoyed Minecraft. Kooper has just developed an interest in physical activity. He attended the Liberal United Methodist Church and worked full-time at US Cellular, although he had intended to begin college studies shortly. Kooper was a one-of-a-kind individual. The majority of people were taken with Kooper’s eyes, which were immediately followed by his smile (if he chose to share it with you). He was an animal lover who has volunteered at the Pittsburg Humane Society. Kooper has a big heart and was always willing to help those in need. He was both a strong competitor and an advocate and champion for the oppressed. Everyone who knew and loved him will miss him terribly, and he will be remembered as a beloved son, grandchild, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend.
Kooper’s parents, Sharon Campiti Foulk of Frontenac and Peter Campiti of Elkhart, Indiana, survive him, as do an older brother, Skyler Campiti of Pittsburg, and a younger sister, Kami Campiti of the home. Uncle Anthony “Tony” Campiti (Jennifer) of Dallas, Texas, Aunt Vickie Woods of Alton, Missouri, Aunt Missy Proctor (David) of Mindenmines, Missouri, Uncle Allen Stevens (Kathy) of Mindenmines, Missouri, Uncle Tommy Stevens (Belinda) of Mindenmines, Missouri, Uncle Adam Woods (Tyanna) of Alton, Missouri, and numerous cousins survive. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, David “Lloyd” and Catherine Stevens, as well as an uncle Timmy Stevens and an uncle Brian Woods.
Rev. Dan Moss will officiate at the funeral services on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at the Countryside Christian Church in Pittsburg. The funeral will be held in Frontenac City Cemetery, across the street from where Kooper used to ride horses with his mother when he was a child. The family will receive guests at the Bedene Funeral Home in Arma, Kansas, on Tuesday from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Crawford County, Kansas Sheriff’s Department’s Kooper Campiti Fentanyl Education Initiative in place of flowers.
