Joseph Taylor Obituary, Joseph Taylor Killed In Police Encounter

Joseph Taylor Obituary, Death – An officer was engaged in the shooting that resulted in the death of a man in Shreveport on Sunday evening. The officer of the Caddo Parish Coroner has given his name as Joseph Dewayne Taylor, and he was 33 years old.

There is not much information available at this time; however, KTBS 3 News has discovered that members of the Shreveport Community Response Unit performed a traffic stop at the intersection of Mansfield Road and Valley View Drive at approximately 9:40 p.m.

That part of the city is located in the 71108 zip code. According to the police, while conducting the stop, the cops came into contact with an armed individual.

During the battle, a law enforcement officer fired at least one shot, injuring a man in the upper torso with the bullet. He was confirmed dead upon arrival to Ochsner LSU Health after being taken there.

During the altercation, there were no officers who sustained injuries. After the shooting, a greater than a dozen different police units came to the location. The Louisiana State Police will be taking over the investigation at this point.
