John Sweeney Obituary, Death – John G. SWEENEY, who was a resident of Norwood and formerly of Roslindale and Mission Hill, passed away on April 22, 2023 in a tranquil setting.
Marylou (Regan), the cherished wife of John who he was married to for 58 years, is the only person John leaves behind. A devoted father to his two kids, John and his wife Laurie (DiBacco) of Norwood and Steven and his wife Joanna (Morgan) of Roslindale.
John and Steven both married women named Laurie. Dedicated Papa to his children, Ava, Samuel, Zoe, and Anthony. In addition, she is survived by a large number of nieces, nephews, relatives, and acquaintances.
Patrick and Catherine (Murphy), John’s parents, as well as Joan (Sweeney) DiPietro and Charles DiPietro, John’s sister and her husband, all passed away before John. John was born in Boston on May 10, 1944.
He attended Mission High School and received his diploma in 1962. John was a proud member of Boston Plasterers & Cement Masons Local 534 for the past 50 years.
In addition, John worked as a mason for the MBTA. After he retired, he and Marylou spent the majority of their time lounging on the sands of the beaches in Wells, Maine, and Naples, Florida.
