John Schneider Obituary, Resident of Albany, Minnesota, Has Died

John Schneider Obituary, Death – On April 19, 2023, John Henry Schneider, 93, of Albany, Minnesota, died quietly at home in the company of his loved ones. Rev. Edward Vebelun, O.S.B. will preside over a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, April 26, at 11 a.m. at Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Albany. The parish cemetery will be used for interment. Wednesday’s visitation is scheduled to take place at the Seven Dolors Gathering Area in Albany from 10 to 11 a.m.

Henry and Vivian (Murphy) Schneider welcomed John Henry Schneider into the world on September 30, 1929, in Holdingford, Minnesota. After graduating from Holdingford High School, John attended St. John’s University and St. Cloud State University to further his studies. He joined the Army before receiving his degree and spent three years there, rising to the rank of Sergeant.  He attended St. Cloud State University once more and graduated with a BA in Business Education.

On June 18, 1960, Rita (Krebs) Schneider and John Schneider exchanged vows at Seven Dolors Church. John spent 32 years as a teacher at Albany Area High School. John frequently attended Albany High School athletic events over the years.  John is survived by his loving wife, Rita of 62 years; sons, John (Jeanne) Schneider of Albany, and Tom (Judy) Schneider of Albany; grandchildren, Kristin Schneider (fiancé, Dirk Maloney) of Avon, Ashley Schneider of Scottsdale, Arizona.

David Schneider of Oakdale; step-grandson, Darrin (Maritza) Salzmann of Minneapolis; great-grandson Colt Solie of Avon; step-great-granddaughter, Vera Salzmann of Minneapolis, and many nieces and nephews. His sisters Betty (Arthur) Viehauser, Corrine (Arnold) Soltis, and Donna Schneider also predeceased him. Thank you so much to the Moments Hospice Team for their kind and thoughtful care.
