John Herman Obituary, John Herman of Cresaptown Has Passed Away

John Herman Obituary, Death – On April 22, 2023, Cresaptown resident John Herman Kammauff Sr., 75, passed away in his family’s presence at home. He was born on October 5, 1947, in Cumberland to the late William and Sarah (Ritchie) Kammauff. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by a young son named Michael Wayne Kammauff and three sisters.

Billie Jane Ramsey, Gertrude Morgan, and Beatrice Crider. She went to Allegany High School with Herman. He was employed by Potomac Metals in Mexico Farms as a metal fabricator. In Cresaptown, he also owned and ran Herman’s, Place Bar. He belonged to the Cresaptown Eagle Riders and the Cresaptown Eagles. Herman was well known for and enjoyed riding motorcycles, riding pool, and caring for animals.

His children, son Steve Yoder and wife Tina, son John Kammauff Jr. and wife Sally, son Billy Kammauff, daughter Malinda Darber and husband Chris, son Jeremy Rosenthal and wife Robyn, as well as a close relative named Bret Ramsey and his wife Judy, as well as a sizable extended family, are still alive.

Visitation will take place at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 15205 McMullen Hwy SW, Cresaptown, on Tuesday, April 25 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Immediately after, at 4:00 p.m., Rev. Harold McClay will preside over a funeral ceremony.
His request for cremation shall be carried out. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the WMHS Foundation, PO Box 539, Cumberland, MD 21501, designated for the hospice or cancer center.
