Jimmy Ivey Obituary, Jimmy Ivey Of Sevierville, Died After A Long And Courageous Battle With Cancer

Jimmy Ivey Obituary, Death – On Saturday, April 22, 2023, at 1:34 AM, Jimmy C. Ivey, a native of Sevierville who was born on May 28, 1949, passed away at the University of Tennessee Medical Center from cancer.

Upon graduating from Seymour High School, Jimmy continued his education. He was a veteran of the United States military, having served in Vietnam.

After leaving Alcoa Aluminum Company, Jimmy often attended First Baptist Church in Sevierville. He and his wife liked taking trips and vacations together.

Mayford and Manda Ivey, Jimmy’s parents, and Gordon and Myrtle Parrott, his in-laws, all predeceased him. His wife of 49 years, Joyce Parrott Ivey; his brothers, Eddie (Freda) Ivey of Maryville and Roy (Leilani) Williams of Seymour; and a large group of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Dr. David Aljadir and the rest of his team at UT Hospital, and especially the wonderful nurses on the 5th floor (West), have the family’s deepest appreciation.

Donations in memory of the deceased can be sent to the First Baptist Church of Sevierville at 317 Parkway, Sevierville, TN 37862. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 26, in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home in Sevierville, with the funeral service to follow at 7 p.m. Pastor Craig Mintz will preside.

On Thursday, April 27, at 11 a.m., funeral services and interment will be held at Smoky Mountain Memory Gardens. Military honors will be provided by American Legion Post 104.
