Janyia Thompson Obituary, Death – According to reports, the Birmingham Police Department is reportedly initiating an investigation into a probable homicide after receiving information that two people were shot on Tuesday evening.
A few time before 8 o’clock in the evening, residents of the area reported hearing gunshots, which prompted the local police department to send officers to the 4500 block of Richard Arrington Jr. Boulevard North in order to conduct an investigation.
As soon as a police officer arrived on the scene, they entered a convenience store at the location and located a woman lying motionless and suffering from what seemed to be a gunshot wound inside the convenience store.
According to the findings of the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, the deceased female has been identified as Janyia Marshae Thompson, and she was a resident of Birmingham. She was 19 years old at the time. Another female victim was shot, but fortunately her wounds were not thought to be life-threatening. Another victim was shot, but this time it was a woman.
The preliminary results of the investigation carried out by the police indicate that there was a group of people who were standing outside of the convenience store at the time an unidentified suspect approached them and fired multiple bullets in their direction.
The perpetrator has not been apprehended, and the authorities have been unable to clearly identify him in any way.
The investigation has led the authorities to believe that the gunshot was carried out on purpose.
