Jamie Johnston Obituary, Jamie Johnston Has Passed Away

Jamie Johnston Obituary, Death – Jamie LeAnn Johnston, 42 years old, passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2023 in Birmingham, Alabama, where she was getting care after undergoing a liver transplant.

Jamie, a native and resident of Hixson, began her teaching career at Ganns Elementary School and continued there after it merged with Middle Valley Elementary school, where she had the opportunity to affect the lives of countless students over the course of her career.

Jamie’s parents, Ronnie and Eva Jo Smith, as well as her niece and nephew, Kylie Rollins and Wyatt Rollins, passed away before she did.
Survivors include her husband of 12 years, Anthony Johnston and son Parker Johnston both of Hixson, TN; Sister Regina, brothers Ron, Chris, and Gerald Smith all of Hixson, TN; Mother In Love Sharon Johnston; Aunts Jarenda Stubblefield, Renee Delashmitt, and Rhonda Smith; Sister In Love Amanda (Daniel) Winn; “Bestie” Jennifer (Stephen) Fields; six nephews and a niece; and friends too numerous to count.

At Grace Church of the Nazarene, located at 6310 Dayton Boulevard in Hixson, Tennessee, visitation will be held on Thursday, April 27, from 5 to 8 p.m., and on Friday, April 28, from 4 to 6 p.m., immediately followed by a Celebration of Life ceremony.

The family would like to take this opportunity to express their gratitude to friends and family members for their unwavering support throughout the past few weeks as Jamie underwent her medical treatments away from home.

They will also gratefully accept any contributions made in lieu of flowers. In memory of Jamie, further contributions can be sent to Legacy of Hope (Alabama’s Organ and Tissue Alliance) or Grace Church of the Nazarene. Both organizations will receive the gifts.
