Hugh O’Donnell Obituary, Death – Hugh Patrick O’Donnell, a Cold War submarine veteran, fell away suddenly on April 15, 2023. He was born in Cleveland on October 1, 1970, and he now makes Medina his home along with his wife Kelly Rene and son Jaxson Patrick. Hugh was an honorable U.S. Navy veteran. He served in the Pacific submarine fleet while he was on active duty.
He received the National Defense Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, and Navy Expeditionary Medal.
He has been working for Dominion Energy for more than 20 years in the Pressure Department. He put in a lot of diligent labor. Along with his profession, he worked on various home repair projects and honed his amazing skills.
Hugh put his family first; along with Kelly and Jaxson, he was an example of how to treat one another with respect and love.
Hugh kept up a tight relationship with his in-laws and extended relatives. He was an excellent cook and frequently hosted sizable family get-togethers. His infectious sense of humor made family gatherings humorous, and his family was known for its typical back-and-forth banter. Hugh will join his parents, John J. and Bridget O’Donnell, in heaven. Dugan, his large dog who enjoyed his company and guarded the home, will also be reunited with him.
Hugh’s devoted wife Kelly and son Jaxson Patrick are left behind.
Hugh’s siblings, Peggy (Andy Niedzielski), Maura (Bill Lynch), Bridgid, and Sean (Johanna Conrad), are still with us to share in his lifetime of kindness and generosity. A large number of his nieces and nephews will also miss him. Hugh served as a role model for moral integrity and a strong work ethic. Hugh consistently found the time and a way, just like the majority of the special people in the world.
