Gloria Coleman Obituary, Death – On Thursday, April 20, 2023, Gloria Rose Coleman, age 78, of Connelly Springs, North Carolina, and formerly of Turkey Creek, Kentucky, passed away at her residence. Rose was the daughter of Condor and Frances Irene Reed Lockard, who both passed away before her birth.
She was born on March 6, 1945, in Pike County, Kentucky. In addition, she was preceded in death by her son, Jimmy Coleman, as well as her siblings Earnest Lockard, Cullen “Lacy” Lockard, Condor Travis “Tad Pole” Lockard, Jeannie Darlene Rivard, and Daisy Lee Ray. Her husband, James Lloyd Coleman, passed away on June 16, 2014; he was followed by her son, Jimmy Coleman. Rose was a member of the Souls Harvest Ministries in Connelly Springs, North Carolina, and she had previously worked for a company that manufactured furniture.
Debbie Salmons of Williamson, West Virginia; Johnnie Coleman and Victor Coleman both of Connelly Springs, North Carolina; Amber Coleman of Hickory, North Carolina; and Frances Coleman of Connelly Springs, North Carolina; two sisters, Sarah Davis of Georgetown, Kentucky, and Sharon Estridge of Canada, Kentucky; ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends are among her survivors.
Visitation will begin at the Turkey Creek Old Regular Baptist Church at 6:00 PM on Sunday, April 23, 2023, and continue until 7:00 PM, when there will be special services. Funeral services will then take place the following day, Monday, April 24, 2023, at eleven in the morning at the church, with Old Regular Baptist Ministers presiding. After the funeral, she will be laid to rest in the Reed-Lockard Cemetery in Turkey Creek, Kentucky, with her relatives acting as bearers of her casket. The Coleman family is being cared for by the R. E. Rogers Funeral Home in Belfry, Kentucky.
