Gary Jenkins Obituary, Death – On April 25, 2023, Gary Levon Jenkins passed away at the Chattanooga Hospice Care Center surrounded by his family and friends.

Herschel and Naomi Jenkins welcomed their son Gary into the world on July 27, 1954, in Cincinnati. He spent his formative years on the Westside of Chattanooga, where he also attended public school. He was able to get to Greater Community Church of Chattanooga COGIC for a period.

In addition to his other careers, he also worked for a long time as a handyman. Gary’s whole immediate family has passed on before him: his wife Darlene Strickland, his kid, his parents Herschel and Naomi Jenkins Williams, and his grandparents Pop and Granny.

Onterian “Terry” (Alexis) Jenkins, Brandon Jenkins, stepfather Arthur Williams, stepdaughters Alexandria and Felicia, sister Annette (Reginald) Golson, niece LaQuina “Tiny” Moon, nephew Elgin Evans, Sr., sisters-in-law Bett and Edward, brothers-in-law Willie “Jr.” Bailey and Robert “Bobby” Jones, and twelve grandchildren survive him.

New Covenant Fellowship Church, 1326 North Moore Road, Chattanooga, Tennessee, will have a memorial ceremony and gathering on Saturday, April 29, 2023, from 4 pm to 7 pm.
