Garnett Moran Obituary, Garnett Moran Of Ruffin, N.C., Has Died

Garnett Moran Obituary, Death – On Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at Roman Eagle Rehab and Healthcare Center in Ruffin, North Carolina, Garnett Morris Moran went to be with his Lord and Savior.

On April 1, 1933, he was born to the Reverend Leonard Moran and Ada Salmons Moran in Danville, Virginia. He had left Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in retirement.

Morris was hit hard when his wife of many years, Rebecca Jean Blackwell Moran, passed away on April 13, 2010. For many years, he was an active participant in the Central Blvd Church of God, where he gave to missions and the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews.

He was the last of his ancestors. His mother and father, along with his brothers Norman, Eugene, Otis, Doug, Billy, Gerald, and sister Iris, all passed away before him.

Several nieces and nephews, as well as his sisters-in-law Peggy, Alma, Linda, Carolyn, and Jeanie Moran, and Barbara Blackwell Schaeffer, will miss him greatly. His cousin, Gladys Moran Brown, deserves special recognition for the compassionate care she gave him over the past year.

On Monday, April 24, 2023, at 2 p.m., the Reverends Travis Gore and John Meadows will officiate a funeral service at the Central Blvd Church of God. One hour before the service, the family will be available to greet visitors. Dan River Primitive Baptist Church graveyard, NC-700 State Highway, Ruffin.

The Central Blvd Church of God’s building fund, the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, or God’s Pit Crew would all be grateful recipients of memorial donations. The Moran family is being cared for by Swicegood Funeral Service.
