Eric Cunningham Obituary, Eric Cunningham Has Passed Away

Eric Cunningham Obituary, Death – We are passing on the news of Eric Cunningham’s passing, and it is with a heavy heart that we do so.
Eric was truly “Mr. South Antrim” and will be dearly missed by everyone at the Club. He was the club’s lifeblood for many years, and we shall all miss him very much.
We would like to express our thoughts and compassion to his daughters Anna and Louise, as well as the rest of his family.
Over the course of many years, Eric was a fantastic servant to not only South Hockey but also Ulster Hockey.

He held a variety of positions within the organization, including that of Branch President. Up until very recently, he continued to cheer on the many South teams competing at Friends School on a weekly basis and was pleased to find that some of those teams are now competing in the EY League.

At a ceremony held in 2019, Eric was also honored to receive the WJ Paddy Patterson Award presented by Sport Northern Ireland in recognition of his contributions to the sporting community.
