Eleanor Whitlock Obituary, Death – Eleanor Lois Whitlock, age 92, passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2023, in the comfort of her own home. On August 13, 1930, her birth was recorded. In the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Eleanor is at rest and is filled with joy.
Eleanor was a dedicated worker and a kindhearted person. The love in her heart was boundless. For 33 years, Eleanor served as an employee at The Bank of Floyd.
She devoted a great deal of time and energy to the betterment of Stonewall and her church. Her parents, Uriah and Eunice Ingram, son, Melvin “Buck” Whitlock, sister, India Moore, and brothers, Russell and Joseph “Little Joe” Ingram all predeceased her, as did her husband of 68 years, Lewis Wayne Whitlock.
Sherri Martin, Anne Gearhart, and their husbands, Sam and Randell, and granddaughter C. Whitlock-Allen, Cheryl Lawrence (Patricia) Whitlock, Monica (Kevin) Grubb, Matthew (Christina Simko) Martin, Emily (Aldo) Loya, Brandon (Holly) Gearhart, Wyatt (Bryce) Gearhart, Shaylee (Chad) Earles, Colby (Caileigh) Gearhart, eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a particularly close friend, Judy Blackwell.
Those that aided Eleanor, including Stephanie, Pam, Cathy, Brenda, Nicole, Emily, CenterWell Home Health, and Good Samaritan Hospice, have the family’s undying appreciation.
They didn’t just look out for Eleanor; they also helped out and supported her loved ones. On Monday, April 24, 2023, at 11 AM, Pastors Jerry Hylton and Darren Landon will officiate funeral services at Stonewall Church of the Brethren.
Pastor Roy Turpin will play some special music. At the church, the family will host a gathering an hour before the service begins. Stonewall Cemetery will be the final resting place.
