Douglas Petch Obituary, Death- We share our deepest condolences with you as we share the news of Douglas James Petch’s demise. After a brief but valiant battle with cancer, he lost his battle with the disease and passed away on April 19 in London.
only one day after celebrating his 86th birthday. He is left by his devoted wife of 30 years, Joyce; his son, Wayne Petch, who is married to Ana; his sister, Wendy Petch, who is married to Gerry Kilfeather; and his stepdaughter, Lynn Robinson, who is married to Bob Lambert. He will be much missed. David Robinson, Laura Petch, Sara (John) Pitt, Carolyn Robinson, Brian Petch, and Jason Petch were Doug’s grandchildren, and he was a proud and doting grandfather to all of them.
His nephews Jason Charlebois (who is married to Elizabeth) and Ryan Charlebois (who is married to Jen) and their families will also remember him fondly. In 2015, Doug’s parents, E. Gertrude (Trudy) and Douglas Albert Petch, as well as his brother, Ronald Gary Petch, passed away. Doug was not the first member of his family to pass away. Doug participated in the activities of the Barbershop Harmony Society, the London Curling Club, and Harmony Woods during the entirety of his 64 years as a member.
The dog was the last surviving member of our 1978 District Quartet Champs, the Mello Men, and he sang baritone for the group. He was held in very high esteem all over the community, and he leaves behind a large number of friends who will miss him very much. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent in Doug’s honor to the charitable organization of your choosing, Harmonize for Speech, or Sing Canada. Thank you. Only immediate family members were present at the cremation and burial, which were both held in private. On Sunday, June 18, from 2 to 4 o’clock, there will be a gathering to celebrate Doug’s life at the Lambeth Legion, which is located at 7097 Kilbourn Road in the N6P 1R2 postal code.
