David Thompson Obituary, David Thompson 62, Of Wilmington, Has Passed Away

David Thompson Obituary, Death – David Michael “Mike” Thompson, 62 years old, passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at his home in Wilmington, North Carolina, with his family at his side.

He was the son of the late Bernard and Wilma (Ferguson) Thompson and was born on October 25th, 1960 in Chillicothe, Ohio. His parents have since passed away.

Mike was a seasoned soldier who had served in the United States Army. He was the owner and operator of D.M. Thompson Chimney Repair for almost 47 years, he taught little league baseball, and he was a devoted supporter of the Dallas Cowboys.

Mike was known for his love of ice-cold Miller Lite and for being the “King” of Keno. He also enjoyed playing the game. Mike is survived by his companion Candy Goulding, his son David Thompson and his wife Marie, his brothers Russell, Bernie, and Forrest Thompson, Candy’s children Lora (Hollie) Justice, Destiny (Matt) Marrs, Frank (Amy) Justice, Trevor Justice, and Justin Justice, as well as a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren, including Kenny Marrs, Rocky (Verna) Ellis, Troy Thompson, and Lauren Thompson.

Mike was predeceased by his two sisters, Denise Thompson and Debra Reed, in addition to both of his parents when he passed away. The family has decided that all services should be held in private and at their discretion. The family is receiving assistance from Brown Funeral Home in Wilmington.
