Cristian Martinez Obituary, Missing Cristian Martinez Found In Lowa River Banks Dead
Cristian Martinez Obituary, Death – The Iowa City Police Department responded to the area of Napoleon Park, which is located at 2501 S. Gilbert St., on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at 12:04 p.m., after a couple who were in the region of the east bank of the Iowa River discovered what they believed to be a body in the river.
The pair was in the vicinity of Napoleon Park at the time of the discovery. Officers from Iowa City and deputies from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office who responded to the scene were able to retrieve the corpse of a deceased person from the water.
It is believed that the body belonged to Cristian Martinez, who was from the city of Muscatine and was last seen on April 15 at approximately 12:56 am. Martinez was last seen in the city.
The Johnson County Medical Examiner’s Office is helping with the investigation to positively identify the individual who was found, and it will determine the cause of death as well as the method in which the subject died.
