Bernadette Wilkens Obituary, Death – On April 25, 2023, Bernadette Wilkens, 73, of St. Clair, California, passed away unexpectedly in her home. On October 8, 1949, B Heilman was born in Cheboygan, Michigan. Before B was born, his parents, Louis and Elizabeth (Bon Secours), both died. She married Raymond Wilkens on December 13, 1980, and it was he who passed away first, in 1999. B graduated from Holy Cross with a high school diploma.

She started working as a candy striper at River District Hospital after completing her education. She started out as a nurse’s assistant and worked her way up to become a respiratory therapist throughout the course of her four decades at the hospital, which mostly consisted of afternoon shifts. In addition to a sizable number of nieces and nephews.

Bernadette is survived by her siblings Karl Heilman, Jeanette Williams, David Heilman, Josette Barney, Daniel (Donna) Heilman, Yvette Slease, and Colette Danhausen. She was preceded in death by Jeanette Williams, David Heilman, Karl Heilman, Daniel (Donna) Heilman, Josette Barney, and Jeanette Williams. B’s brothers-in-law Roger Barney, David Williams, and Dallas Danhausen died before her, as did her sisters Annette Heilman.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Marine City’s OLR Parish on Wednesday, May 3, at 11:00 a.m. The interment will take place in Capac Cemetery. There will be a rosary recital at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Young Funeral Home in China Twp. Visitation hours are from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. The church will be open for additional visits on Wednesday from 10:30 to 11:00 before mass.
