Adam Rudlaff Victim From Downtown Fort Myers Shooting In Critical Condition

Adam Rudlaff – ABC7 reports that Fort Myers resident Adam Rudlaff, 39, was killed in a shooting outside The Lucky Screw on Saturday night. Rudlaff is in the ICU at Gulf Coast Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

“This was by far the scariest moment in my entire life,” Rudlaff remarked from his hospital bed on Sunday. At around 10:30 p.m., Rudlaff claims he saw two large “biker gangs” argue and confront each other outside The Lucky Screw Restaurant, located on Hendry Street.

One of the men, he thinks, pulled a revolver in self-defense and accidentally shot him. “I’m probably twenty feet down the street, they’re all fighting, and all of a sudden it started coming my way,” Rudlaff said.

Rudlaff had two gunshot wounds to the chest from the errant fire. Both of them are like a shield around my heart. I’m two millimeters away from having a bullet go through my heart, Rudlaff remarked.

The doctors have told us they can’t say for sure whether or not he will make it. Rudlaff’s fiancee, Nicole Womack, adding, “We don’t know if he’s going to make it yet.”

The incident has been classified as an active and ongoing investigation by the Fort Myers Police Department. They are currently looking through surveillance footage from local businesses and witness testimony.

FMPD has not yet responded to AB7’s requests for comment on whether or not any arrests have been made. I really do hope the perpetrators of this are identified and punished. Certainly not this person. He ran. You want to label me a coward? Rudlaff remarked.
